Volunteering
Raise your hand to be an integral part of your favorite arts organization! There are a number of volunteer opportunities available at PRC programs and events, such as lectures, receptions, exhibitions, and more. If you can help with any of the following, please contact programs@prcboston.org and let us know what interests you.
Gallery Staff
To keep our galleries open and available for visitors we need gallery staff! Gallery Staffers welcome visitors to the gallery, provide information about the exhibition on view, and act as PRC Ambassadors for gallery visitors. Staffers are available to chat with visitors about the exhibition, as well as benefits of PRC membership and answer questions about the organization. All of the information needed will be in a binder on the gallery desk. This is our most needed volunteer position!
Events Team
In a similar way to Gallery Staffers, members of the Events Team act as PRC Ambassadors during events and take turns coordinating the logistics of PRC events such as Photo Slams, PRC Nights, opening receptions, etc. Logistics include (but aren’t limited to) ordering/picking up/bringing refreshments and paper goods, setting-up for events (chairs, tables, refreshments, PRC literature), greeting guests, and selling tickets. Volunteers can help with logistics that are most comfortable for them.
Exhibitions Crew
The Exhibitions Crew works alongside the PRC Creative Director and exhibition Curators to mount exhibitions from delivery of work all the way through to deinstallation. This is a great opportunity to participate in installations of 2D work and new media. Activities include handling artwork, executing intake forms, condition reports and artist contracts, hanging art, repairing walls. No experience necessary!
Tech Team
We use a lot of technology and always need help with tasks such as these…
SalesForce: Which we use to track our membership and donors; help us with general advice and support, maintenance updates, and creating new reports.
Website: Our website uses WordPress running on an Apache server hosted by GoDaddy. It all needs regular backend updating and maintenance (we’ve got the content covered), including keeping this running fast, getting rid of unused files, and keeping an eye on things.
Web Commerce: We use WooCommerce for print and book sales, but we could really use some expertise to make it work more smoothly, have better content, improve our SEO so people can find our products, and the like. If you have ecommerce chops, we need your help!
Behind the Scenes
Assist with the inner workings of the PRC including general administrative tasks, assisting with our inventory database, and helping with research of prints in our holdings.
