Cyanotype with Susan Murie
Staying creative and making photographs has been a challenge these past few months. Join us on Sunday, August 30th for a presentation with celebrated alternative processes photographer Susan Murie and be inspired by a demonstration of making cyanotypes.
In this demo you will see how paper is prepared with a cyanotype solution, how a print is set up for exposure and how the print is washed. Susan will show some recent work and there will be time to discuss the finer points of preparation of negatives, exposure times, what papers she recommends and any other questions you may have.
Susan Murie is a New England-based artist. Her work has been exhibited throughout the area including on The Curated Fridge in a 2018 Show curated by Francine Weiss. Susan was awarded the Artist of the Year 2020 at Cambridge Art Association by Jessica Roscio, Curator at the Danforth Art Museum. In addition to private collections, her work is in the permanent collection of Fidelity and the City of Somerville. Susan Murie’s work is represented by the Abigail Ogilvy Gallery in Boston.
