Life is fragile—delicate not only in its impermanence but in how it is shaped, obscured, and often distorted by forces beyond our control. This series explores that vulnerability through the ephemeral beauty of flowers encased in ice. Flowers have long symbolized hope to me: vivid, fleeting, and tender. By preserving them in ice, I sought to examine the tension between preservation and erosion, between endurance and inevitable change.

As the ice distorts, fractures, and at times obliterates the forms within, it becomes a metaphor for how uncertainty distorts our perception—of beauty, of truth, of time itself. What remains visible? What is lost? How long can something delicate survive when suspended between stillness and dissolution?

This work emerged as a personal response to a world that feels increasingly unstable—where hope can feel paused, restrained, or at risk. The frozen blooms are not only visually transformed but emotionally charged, caught in a liminal state that speaks to the fragility of optimism and the quiet resilience needed to sustain it.

Through this process, I aimed not only to capture the physical transformation of organic material under ice but to invite reflection on how we perceive beauty, loss, and perseverance. In these frozen moments, I ask: how do we hold on to hope when everything feels like it’s melting away?
