Jim Fitts has worked in commercial and fine art realms of photography. During his career, he has held senior creative positions in advertising and design and non-profits. Holding a degree in graphic design from MassArt, he currently teaches at Mount Ida College. PDN Magazine selected a book that he worked on and helped to bring to fruition, Harold Feinstein: A Retrospective, as one of the best photobooks of 2013. He is currently co-curating Permission to Fail: Notebooks of Graphic Designers at Mount Ida (October 15, 2015 – January 16, 2016).
Fitts is a past PRC Board Member and PRC Executive Director. An avid collector of photography, he regularly profiles emerging and established photographers on his site photoweenie.com. Fitts’s own work includes series on rock and roll music, a neighborhood boxing gym, and mixed media collages. This image features a Pee Wee doll that Fitts was given as a gift.
