Two Newton residents have been juried into the Photographic Resource Center’s 25th annual exhibition, Exposure 2021.

The Cambridge-based organization runs a national photography competition each year. The photographs of Becky Behar and Tira Khan will be on view July 9 to Aug. 20 at the Mary Cosgrove Dolphin Gallery at Worcester State University. An online reception will take place July 13.

Juror Graves chose the work of Behar, Khan and 12 other photographers from hundreds of applicants. This year’s exhibit will showcase a collection of figurative representation. Graves is an artist and publisher based in London and New York.

Behar’s photography focuses on motherhood and domestic life. She will be exhibiting three photographs from her recent Homespun portfolio, a set of images created during COVID-19 when her three grown up kids came home and she would find them knitting in the evenings. Using knitting as a metaphor, she created photographs that talk about the constructs of a family. Yarn and ropes appear in her images to discuss the tension, strength and resistance of a family.
