16th Annual Self-Published Photobook Exhibition

Don’t miss the amazing photobooks now at the 16th Annual Self-Published Photobook Exhibition at the Griffin Museum, open through Labor Day week-end. The show was juried by Karen Davis and Crista Dix (the Griffin Museum’s director). I’m honored that my photobook, E PLURIBUS UNUM (OUT OF MANY, ONE) was included in the show. The book highlights the contribution of immigrant stoneworkers during the renovation of a historic church building in Boston. Distinct from the gallery aesthetic, photobooks offer their own visual language, often conducive to more narrative qualities and seriality than the standard on-the-wall format. A parallel exhibition of hand-made photobooks is also on view.
