A Queer Lens: Photographers in Conversation

    Online June 15, 2023 at 7pm
    FREE to attend: Register HERE

This program is a co-presentation with WHERE ARE ALL THE BLACK PEOPLE AT in partnership with the Photographic Resource Center and the Gender and Sexuality Center at Brandeis University.

The PRC is delighted to be an Event Sponsor for the Rose Art Museum’s A Queer Lens: Photographers in Conversation. Photography has long been used to challenge mainstream cultural narratives and create new ones. For artists living in a world that often denies their existence, photography can be a tool of empowerment, revealing beauty, vulnerability, and humanity.

Left to right: Cristela Guerra, Jaypix Belmer, Jess T. Dugan, C. Rose Smith

Join artists C. Rose Smith, PRC Member and Volunteer Jaypix Belmer, and 2023-24 PRC Speaker Series presenter Jess T. Dugan, for a virtual conversation moderated by Cristela Guerra, Senior Arts & Culture reporter at The ARTery, WBUR’s Arts and Culture Team. Each artist will discuss how they use the photographic image to construct queer visual histories through intimate representations of individuals with nonbinary, transgender, and gender-expansive identities. For more information on this presentation and biographical information about the presenters visit the Rose Art Museum website.

This FREE program will have automated captions and is hosted via Zoom webinar. Registration is required.
