The recipient of numerous fellowships and grants, including a Guggenheim and NEA Fellowship, Gibson received the Lucie Award in 2007 and is a Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres of France. Shown and collected internationally, Gibson had solo shows most recently at The Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin and the Center for Creative Photography in Tucson, AZ.
