Take a Walk in My Shoes
Come see the world through the creative eyes of five middle school children and two Take 5 alums. Given cameras for a year and under the guidance of professional photographer Brenda Bancel, these Epiphany School students explored the medium on their own terms. With plenty of encouragement and no rigid photography rules, the artists produced a body of work that tells their stories through the eyes of teenagers. Brenda Bancel is the president of Take 5 Foundation and owner of Brenda Bancel Photography. She spent ten years in the advertising industry working with clients such as Apple and IBM in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, and London before realizing that she wanted to focus on nonprofit work. She is a recent graduate of the New England School of Photography, where she graduated with honors in Documentary. She hopes to use photography to bring awareness to important social issues.
