In honor of the 25th anniversary of the PRC gallery and the 35th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, the PRC honored two individuals who were instrumental in the PRC's history and photohistory in Boston, Chris Enos and Carl Chiarenza.  Along with recent work by Enos, the PRC showcased the traveling exhibition from the University of Richmond Museums, Peace Warriors and Solitudes: Recent Photographs by Carl Chiarenza. 

Both Enos and Chiarenza wore many hats in the PRC's history and were important members of the Boston photography scene at a critical time. Besides their intersecting history, lifelong careers in photo education, and mutual friendship, Enos's and Chiarenza's work shares aesthetic and conceptual affinities, including the use of recycled materials, the transformation and abstraction of the image, and references to painting and landscape. This show celebrated these two remarkable artists and individuals as well as the past and future of the gallery and the PRC itself.

deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum
"Out of the Box": Photography Portfolios from the Permanent Collection
October 24, 2009 - October 2010
The deCordova invited former PRC curator Leslie K. Brown to organize an exhibition from the museum's extensive photography collection. Selections from over ten portfolios were featured, ranging from the very first photographs to enter the deCordova's collection to the most recently acquired, including the entire PRC Portfolio. This exhibition also initiated a new curatorial program: inviting guest curators and artists to explore deCordova's collection and bring to it new viewpoints.
