Monthly Portfolio Reviews

As we recently announced, the PRC's Monthly Portfolio Reviews are BACK & NEW and sponsored by Panopticon Imaging!  These re-launched reviews will bring a variety of voices to the table (curators, gallerists, educators, critics, photographers, and more) and are designed to provide helpful feedback on your work and exposure.

Monthly portfolio reviews are provided as a benefit of PRC membership. Members are eligible for ONE complimentary portfolio review per their membership year. Please note: we will be inviting a variety of reviewers, with a variety of perspectives and -- after this first round -- scheduling as far in advance as possible to make planning even easier.  Thus, please research the reviewers ahead of time, and also consider waiting for the best fit for your work.

MEMBERSHIP: In preparation for signing up, be sure to join and/or renew your PRC membership ahead of time (www.prcboston.org/individual.htm).  Please email any questions regarding your membership to membership@prcboston.org.  This opportunity is only available for PRC Members and -- PLEASE NOTE -- you must sign up or renew your membership in advance of signing up for a portfolio review, or you will be pulled out of the lottery.

REGISTRATION: In conjunction with these re-tooled reviews, we decided to do a lottery to be most equitable to all. To be eligible for the lottery for a particular reviewer, please email your name, phone number, and membership status to reviews@prcboston.org during the specified registration day and time, listed below.

HOW IT WILL WORK: There will be 5 individual reviews chosen by random lottery drawing, from all the emails received during the 12-hour sign up period.  We will be assigning your review time, so please make sure you plan to have the whole afternoon available.  If you are selected you will receive an email with your time (please check your slam folder if you do not receive one within 2 days) and please re-confirm that you have received and will attend.

Reviews will be 30 minutes each and held from 1pm – 5pm, on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday depending on the Reviewer's availability.  Please note: if you are not chosen -- for a review or put on a waitlist, we will not be rolling the names forward; you will need to email again to be considered for a future review.

REVIEWS, REVIEWERS, & SIGN UP DATES:

Tuesday, May 9th, slots available 1-4pm
Patricia DellorfanoLead Curator, Corporate Art Group, Fidelity Investments, Boston, MA
SIGN UP: Emails for review lottery taken on Wednesday, May 2nd, between 8am and 8pm

Since this is a new iteration of our monthly Portfolio Reviews, we will be evaluating this new sign-up procedure and make changes as needed.  Special thanks to the wonderful photo folks at Panopticon Imaging for sponsoring these new reviews and to David Mattox for helping to coordinate this new opportunity.

PREPARING & ATTENDING THE REVIEW: All reviews will be held at the PRC in our library.  Please arrive 10 minutes early to your appointment and know that your review will be 30-minutes long (and plan accordingly). When preparing your work to bring to the session, we recommend choosing a selection of about 20-30 images and no more than two series.  Prints are always preferable to digital images (and if you wish to do that, please bring your own viewing device) and please no plastic sleeves.  Please be prepared to tell the reviewer what you'd like to get out of the review.
