Boston, MA 02215

Lydia Panas
Sally Mann, Jessie at Six, 1988, 8 x 10 inches, gelatin silver print. Anonymous donor.

Get ready for the PRC 2011 Benefit Auction! This year will be the most enjoyable and successful event ever that will meet your needs as artists and collectors and our needs to gain support for all of our programs — exhibitions, Master Lecture Series, workshops, Loupe—and all the other programs that you have come to associate with New England's most dynamic center for creative photography.

We have many exciting changes to this year's auction. This year the auction will have two separate components in one evening. The Live Auction will come first. This will be limited to not more than 35 of the most sought after work by the most sought after artists. Tickets to the Live Auction are $100. Immediately following the Live Auction will be the Silent Auction with tickets starting at $25 for members. Both auctions will give artists, collectors, and everyone else an opportunity to see and purchase some of the finest photography anywhere.

Auction Special Features

Fashion
While the PRC’s mission focuses on photography, we want our members and supporters to know that we embrace and celebrate all the arts. The work of two recent graduates of the Massachusetts College of Art + Design will be featured during the live and silent auctions.

Gillian WrightGillian Wright
Gillian Wright's collection, Las Mujeres, is a mixture of large Cuban style prints, bright, saturated color, leather, and hardware.  A unique mixture of military influences and soft feminine silhouettes captures the idea of influential, strong women within Cuban history. The juxtaposition of military activism and societal expectations of women in the 1960s plays into a line that fully embraces womanliness while examining the Cuban revolution and politics.

Nataliya YermolenkoNataliya Yermolenko
Uprising is a striking ready-to-wear collection inspired by the stage presence and lifestyle of the United Kingdom musical group Muse. The work evokes the grand demeanor and mood of the Rock Alternative trio through the use of leathers, furs, textured wools, and metallic ornamentation. Although Muse is an all-male trio, the musicians inspired a women’s-wear collection comprised of carefully tailored jackets and coats, which conveniently intermixes with intricate form-fitting undergarments. These ensembles are bold, stark, and alluring and leave the woman feeling nothing short of a rock-star.

Installation
TriiibeIn addition to stellar photography, the auction will also feature work from TRIIIBE’s exhibition In Search of Eden, A Work in Progress. TRIIIBE’s 10 x 14 foot triptychs play with religious and advertising imagery, revisiting the biblical creation story, the notion of temptation, and the eternal quest for Eden.

In 2006, performance artists Alicia, Kelly, and Sara Casilio (identical triplets) and photographer Cary Wolinsky formed the collective TRIIIBE to create political and social commentary art. www.triiibe.com
