Paul Wainwright built his first darkroom when he was 12, and for more than four decades photography was his expressive outlet.  He was also fascinated by physics, and has a PhD from Yale.  A lengthy high-tech career at Bell Laboratories only strengthened his love for traditional photography, and since 2001 he has made it his full-time occupation.  Wainwright's work is held in private and public collections and shown through the region. His 2009 book, A Space for Faith: The Colonial Meetinghouses of New England, is the winner of numerous publishing awards.

Wainwright was a past PRC Member Spotlight and is known for his fine printing.  Wainwright's large-format work evokes a sense of timelessness and tranquility, and has been described as reminiscent of some of the great masters of the 20th century.
