A graduate of Wellesley College, with a major in biology and minor in art history, Karin Rosenthal studied photography at the Rochester Institute of Technology and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.  Collected extensively regionally and nationally, she is the recipient of many awards and accolades and teaches workshops through New England.  A retrospective of her work was shown and published by the Danforth Museum of Art, Karin Rosenthal: Twenty Years of Photographs, in2000.

Rosenthal has given portfolio reviews and workshops for the PRC and was featured in a PRC organized exhibition at MIT's Center for Theoretical Physics in 2011-12. More recently, Rosenthal has shifted from images of the body and its reflection, often in water, to only reflections in nature and she is also delving into her own family history.  This image is an example of one Rosenthal's signature nudes.
