Finnish American Arno Rafael Minkkinen received his MFA in 1974 from the Rhode Island School of Design.  With hundreds of solo and group exhibitions worldwide, his works are held in prominent museum collections.  Six monographs of his work have been published, including SAGA: The Journey of Arno Rafael Minkkinen, Thirty-­Five Years of Photographs (2005), organized by the Foundation for the Exhibition of Photography and shown locally at the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum.  He was a awarded Lucie Award in 2013 and a Guggenheim fellowship in 2015.  Minkkinen is Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and on the national board of the Society for Photographic Education.

Minkkinen served as the book review editor during the first year of the PRC's critical publication, VIEWS: A New England Journal of Photography, in 1979 and as editor during its second year.  Minkkinen creates mysterious and playful portraits within nature using his own body.
