SUMMARY:In the Footsteps of the American Revolutionary War
DESCRIPTION:Steve Edson is giving a presentation on his photographic work that currently is up at the Monroe Tavern part of the Lexington History Museums. A still photography documentary and narrative series where he photographed at many local historic battlefields\, venues and roads where the American Revolutionary War began and took place\, from Boston to Charlestown\, Cambridge\, Somerville\, Medford\, Arlington\, Concord\, and Lexington and beyond. The power of Steve’s images and presentation shows the current conditions of what these sites look like today\, almost 250 years after the fact. In his presentation\, Mr. Edson will speak about the historical events that led up to the early battles in Concord and Lexington on April 18th and 19th\, 1775 and the subsequent months forcing the eventual departure of the British forces from Boston

SUMMARY:Opening Reception : In View
DESCRIPTION:The Photographic Resource Center (PRC)—a nonprofit organization founded in 1976 and dedicated to supporting lens-based artists through exhibitions\, public programs\, and community-building initiatives—serves as a hub for photographic dialogue in Greater Boston\, providing space for experimentation\, visibility\, and professional growth for artists at all stages of their careers. \n\n\n\nPresented in partnership with Behind VA Shadows\, who are generously hosting this exhibition in their gallery\, In View continues the PRC’s mission to uplift and celebrate diverse photographic practices. Curated by Catherine LeComte Lecce\, Executive Director of the PRC\, this exhibition brings forward practices grounded in inquiry\, memory\, experimentation\, and lived experience. By presenting these artists together\, In View affirms that creative growth is not linear and that artistic community is built in many forms. The work continues\, and we are honored to hold space for it here.
